About us

86% of consumers are more likely to trust a company engaged in socially responsible activities

Why we exist

The pressure on businesses to get human rights right has never been greater. Legislation is tightening. Supply chains are more complex and more heavily scrutinised. And for the people who care most about this work, the pace of change can feel painfully slow.

We know what the challenges look like and how to overcome them. We’ve all worked within businesses and led change.

That’s why we founded Inherently Human – a consultancy that combines rigorous expertise with human connection, to help organisations move from good intentions to grounded action.

The people behind the work

We are an experienced team with deep roots in business and human rights – practitioners who have worked inside organisations, across industries, and alongside workers and communities.

Inherently Human was founded by Louise Herring, a leading practitioner in business and human rights. Louise is also Executive Director of AIM-Progress – a member-led forum of 55 multinational fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies and suppliers united by a goal to advance human rights in supply chains through responsible sourcing and dedicated to catalysing change through capability building, convergence and collaboration. She is also thefounder of the Food Network for Ethical Trade, a collaborative network of over 80 European food companies working to improve conditions for workers across their supply chains.
