Coaching and mentoring
Pushing the human rights agenda forward inside an organisation can be a lonely undertaking. If you are working in a small team – or as the only person with this expertise – the pressure to move quickly while bringing everyone else along can be significant.
How we help
We have worked alongside clients in a range of ways, depending on what you need. Some want an expert to bounce ideas off. Some need support building confidence within their team. Others are navigating complex board conversations and want someone who understands the territory.
Human rights expertise when you need it most
Sometimes people are brought into organisations with strong technical, environmental or commercial backgrounds but limited human rights experience. We work alongside you – building your knowledge and confidence, helping to share the workload and co-designing strategy over time.
A sounding board – and critical friend
If you are the only person in your organisation with this expertise, there is no one to think out loud with. We offer clients the ability to call on us when a problem arises or a decision needs to be worked through – debating, discussing and arriving at well-considered positions together. Perhaps you’ve found a severe human rights impact, such as child labour, and need to know where to start. Perhaps you need to convince your board to fund a human rights programme. Whatever the question, no matter how challenging or overwhelming, we are here to support you.
Supporting your team
We also help clients to build the right team for their human rights activities, to develop capability and confidence within existing teams where a project is proving challenging, and to support managers and senior leaders to make the human rights case convincingly to their boards and committees.
