Find out more about Inherently Human.

Our training is practical, relevant, and grounded in real-world experience. We know that most suppliers aren’t starting from zero, but they’re also not always sure what good looks like. This course is designed to bridge that gap.

What you’ll walk away with

By the end of the day, you’ll have a clearer sense of the HRDD landscape and where your business sits within it. You’ll understand Sainsbury’s requirements – and what meeting them looks like in practice.

And you’ll have practical tools and approaches you can start applying as soon as you’re back at your desk.

The day covers:

The foundations

What human rights due diligence is, why it matters, and how it applies to your business – whether you source directly or through a supply chain.

Sainsbury’s Responsible Sourcing Manual

A clear walkthrough of Section 6 of the manual, Sainsbury’s minimum sourcing requirements, and how to navigate the policies and procedures that sit alongside it.

The HRDD process in practice

The core steps: building effective policies and procedures, conducting a risk assessment, developing an action plan, monitoring progress, and communicating what you’re doing. We’ll cover grievance mechanisms and remediation too – often the hardest part, and the most important.

Specific challenges

Sourcing from high-risk countries, responsible recruitment, and working with labour providers – the areas where human rights risks are often highest and where suppliers most need practical guidance.

Time to ask questions and learn from others

One of the most valuable parts of the day is the conversation in the room, and you’ll be learning alongside other Sainsbury’s suppliers at a similar stage in their journey.

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at the person responsible for ensuring the rights of people in your own operations and supply chains. It’s designed for smaller and medium-sized suppliers who may be towards the start, or already on, their HRDD journey – you don’t need to have done this before.

Not sure who should attend from your business? Email training@inherentlyhuman.co.uk and we’ll be happy to help.

If you supply to Sainsbury’s and want to understand what’s expected of you, and how to make it happen in a business like yours, this course has been built with you in mind.

Book your place

Places are limited to keep sessions small and interactive, so we’d encourage you to book early.
